Is it compulsory to register a will in India?

No, an unregistered will can be valid. Registration makes it much harder to challenge and easier to find, so we recommend it.

Can an NRI make a will for property in Kerala?

Yes. An NRI can make an Indian will for Indian assets. Assets abroad may need a separate will valid in that country.

How often should a will be updated?

Every 3 years, and after a marriage, birth, death, divorce, or a large purchase or sale.
